Therapy Talk

Hi there! My name is Ingrid Hernandez, I'm a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC). I am a first generation Cuban American who grew up in a bilingual, multicultural household. Doing therapy in Spanish (or Spanglish) is always an option if you feel more comfortable. From an early age, I had a deep curiosity about people, their stories, and healing. My own journey in trying to better manage life stressors, learn about myself, and fully accept myself as I am has highlighted the importance of emphasizing client’s strengths, accepting (and even learning to love) what we cannot change, and learning new skills to cope differently in the future. My background includes being a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I earned a Master's degree in counseling from the University of Miami in 2017. I have been in the mental health field for over 10 years in various areas of specialties with diverse individuals.
